Eligibility

Open to musicians 15 years and over, Regardless of nationality.

Selection Process

The following categories will play the designated songs in the 15th competition Final Stage
(Piano, Vocal, Violin, Cello, Flute and Marimba)

(In the category where there is an a required song, you will play the plus a required song in one free song. However, in the voice section, you will need to play the a required song in addition to one opera and one song.)
A required piece of music

First Stage (preliminary selection)

Judgment on recorded medias
A piece of music of the applicant’s own choosing within 10 minutes

Second Stage
A piece of music of his/her own choosing 10 minutes
* For vocal section only : two pieces: One is an art song and an aria

Final Stage
A piece of music of his/her own choosing within 15 minutes

*For Vocal Section only : two pieces: One is an art song and an aria.

*For Piano, Vocal, Violin, Cello, Flute and Marimba: One more your category designated song

Notes

Applicants should write the following clearly on the recorded media: his/her full name, the section he/she has applied for, the title of the piece, the name of the composer, the date of recording. The recording should have been made within three years prior to submission. Recording at a live concert is also accepted.
Contestants can play the same piece for both the first and the second stage.
In that case, he/she must choose a different piece for the final stage.
Contestants can be accompanied only on piano.; performance without accompaniment is also possible throughout the stages.
We rent Marimba(PF3000CF KOROGI)for free to a contestant.

(Both the second and the final stages are open to the public.)

The Result of the Competition

First Stage
notified to all the applicants through the post by End of July 2019

Second Stage
announced on the day of the each competition at the venue

Final Stage
after all the competitions, the final results will be read out at the awards ceremony

Participation Fee

30,000 yen
35,000 yen for the ensemble categoryor equivalent in other currencies convertible into Japanese yen
(The entry fee will not be refunded in any case after the application has been completed.)

GrandPrix
500,000yen in Prize money, Trophy, Diploma

Supplementary prize
Romania round-trip airline ticket

Special prizes
Trophy, diploma, Embassy of Romania , Special July prize etc.

Each category
Medal and Diploma (the first, second and third prize)

Additional Prizes
The organizer will provide the opportunity for prize winners to perform at the exhibition concerts held on May 2020 at The Tokyo Bunka Kaikan
Prize winners will be selected to participate in a concert tour in Romania starting fall 2020
Based on the jury’s recommendations, laureates will perform with The Romanian National Radio Orchestra and record a concerto

Entrants are required to bring piano accompanists and page turners at their expenses.
Participation Fee will not be returned under any circumstances.
Recorded media will not be returned. Please ensure to make a copy of it if you need one.

Contestants must pay their own living and travel expenses for the duration of the competition.
Please understand that we do not answer to questions regarding the results of the competition.
